The reason is because it removes an 800 cell cat and a resonator, increases pipe size to a smooth 2.5", this part will not only give you some nice exhaust tones, but is also bolt on cheap power. This is an OEM performance replacement part. Fitment is exactly like OEM, however it does not have the secondary cat and resonator. Pipe size is 2.5" which is optimal flow for our smaller engines (even our VT2 Stuffed Turbo 300WHP car had a 2.5" Exhaust system).Removing the secondary catalytic converter on our cars is known to make about 10WHP and carry power to redline much better than OEM cat, which is a 800 Cell restriction. This replacement keeps exhaust gases flowing smoothly through the midpipe, without any restrictions. .If ordering for Elantra N Line please specify in notes. Hyundai Elantra GT N Line and GT Sport owners may want to consider this replacement as the OEM midpipe is well known to fail at the rear flange.
