Product Description
Griffco M-Series PVC Pressure Relief Valves
Griffco M-Series pressure relief valves are designed to optimize the performance of your chemical feed system by protecting it from over-pressure damage caused by defective equipment or blockage in the chemical feed line. These valves provide operator safety and mechanical protection to municipal and industrial applications that use chemical feed pumps that produce pressures well in excess of actual process requirements.
Griffco M-Series PVC diaphragm pressure relief valves operate when the pressure in the chemical system exceeds the preset pressure of the valve. The diaphragm is held against the valve seat by an internal spring. When the preset pressure is exceeded the diaphragm is forced up and the chemical flows out the relief port and back to the chemical storage tank. The valves are preset to 50 psi, however they are field adjustable from 10 - 150 psi via the adjustment screw. The relief valve should be set approximately 15 psi higher than the system operating pressure.
Features of these Pressure Relief Valves:
High reliability at an affordable price
NPT threaded connections
PTFE/EPDM diaphragm is preset at 50 PSI, and is field adjustable from 10 to 150 PSI via adjustment screw
Installation should be made as close to the pump as possible, without any valves or accessories between the relief valve and the pump.
Relief valve opens when system pressure exceeds the preset pressure of the pressure relief valve. When the preset chemical pressure is exceeded, a diaphragm is forced open and the chemical solution flows out the relief port and back into the chemical supply tank.
