Product Description

The Kamado San Rice Cooker from Iga Mono has earned its reputation quietly. Since its release in 2000, nearly a million have been sold in Japan — not through novelty, but through consistency. It makes exceptionally good rice, every time.

Handcrafted in Iga, a region known for its heat-retaining clay, the thick donabe body allows gentle, even heat to radiate throughout the pot. The porous clay helps regulate moisture while the inner and outer lids work together to create a mild pressure-cooking effect, preventing boil-overs and producing rice that is fragrant, fluffy and evenly cooked.

Cooking is straightforward: bring to a medium-high heat, then allow the rice to rest off the burner. During this resting period, residual heat stored in the clay continues to steam the rice, refining both texture and flavour without intervention.

Beyond rice, the Kamado San is a versatile cooking vessel. Remove the inner lid and use it for soups, stews or simple one-pot meals.
